Lodges

Lodges (also known as Supported Residential Facilities) provide long-term supported accommodation for people on low incomes.

Who can live at a Lodge?

The lodges are for people on low incomes who are comfortable about sharing a home with others. They are suitable for single people and couples over the age of 18. The Lodges are not able to accommodate children.

What is provided?

  • long-term, supported accommodation
  • three meals a day
  • a linen service once a week for sheets and towels
  • low-level support to people to maintain their accommodation
  • information on and acccess to other services that may be able to assist you
  • information and access to social activities, employment, education and training options

What does it cost?

The cost of living at a lodge is 80% of residents' income (excluding Commonwealth Rent Assistance). This covers rent, meals, the linen service and access to recreational activities.

Eligibility

You must be

  • single or a couple over the age of 18 years
  • on a low income
  • eligible for Public Housing
  • able to live independently

Locations

Anglicare has four lodges. They are

  • Burnie Lodge at Wivenhoe, Burnie
  • Indigo Lodge at Prospect, Launceston
  • Bilton Lodge at Claremont, Hobart
  • Bayview Lodge at Rosny, Hobart
