What is it?
Anglicare supports the families, carers, partners and children of people with mental illness. We provide information and resources, counselling and assistance. Anglicare “supports the supporters” by providing flexible care and support.
Who is it for?
Our Family Mental Health Support Service is for anyone who would like some support as they care for someone with a mental illness.
What types of support are available?
Anglicare acknowledges the difficulties experienced by many people - including a lack of information, family isolation and breakdown, financial and emotional stress.
We provide:

We also offer:

Workshops: we respond to requests for information on a particular topic or to hear from a particular guestspeaker

Group work: we offer an opportunity for you to share experiences and develop networks with other people in similar situations

Community education: we hold community events and workshops at schools and community groups
Where is this service available?
The Family Mental Health Support Service is available in Burnie and Hobart.
In the south we also offer outreach to Glenorchy, Bridgewater, Sorell, Kingston, New Norfolk and Clarence.
In the north west we also offer outreach to Devonport, Smithton, Central Coast, Waratah/Wynyard, Circular Head, Kentish and Latrobe.
