An amazing collection of 410 door snakes was recently donated to Anglicare as a result of a project run by the Tasmanian Leaders Program.

kes in 100 days’ was an initiative which saw community groups and individuals asked to make draught stoppers for use by Anglicare. “Door snakes have been knitted, crocheted and sewn from scratch,” said project spokeswoman Lucy Byrne. “Some have been decorated with individual flair—one even has diamantes!”
The project working group expressed its thanks to the ‘drop-off locations’ for the project which included Anglicare offices, UTAS libraries, the UTAS Cradle Coast campus, Oatlands Handmade and LINCs in Launceston, Rosny, Devonport and Hobart.
“We are delighted with this outcome,” said Lucy. “For those who put their creative talent to work to make some truly gorgeous door snakes, we can’t be thankful enough”.
The draught stoppers will be used as part of Anglicare’s promotion of sustainable energy consumption.
