King Island Temporary Care and Support Service (KITCASS) provides safe, temporary accommodation for young people aged 13-18 living on King Island who are homeless or need a safe place to stay.

KITCASS can give you:

  • somewhere to stay, by placing you with a volunteer carer who offers you accommodation within their own home and a safe and secure environment in which to get back on your feet
  • ongoing support to both you and the carer to ensure that your time with them is a positive one and that you are safe and supported
  • ongoing assistance to help you get in touch with other services and reconnect with your community
  • support to reconcile with your parents or family if this is appropriate and what you want

Is there a cost? No.

KITCASS is a project of Rural and Remote Tasmania Reconnect, funded by the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs.

It is run as a partnership between Anglicare and the King Island Support Group.

KITCASS is available on King Island.

Please call 6462 1065.
