Mental Health Services

Anglicare Tasmania provides government funded mental health recovery and counselling services across Tasmania.

Mental health is made up of our psychological, emotional and social wellbeing. It affects how we feel, think and behave each day. Our mental health also contributes to our decision-making process, how we cope with stress and how we relate to others in our lives.  People need good mental health to cope with the ups and downs of life.

Our services include NDIS funded counselling and social work, mental health recovery at home or in supported accommodation and personalised support following a suicide attempt.

Mental Health and the NDIS

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is now funding mental wellbeing services

NDIS is now funding mental health services for those that have a disability that has arisen from a mental health condition.  This is a called a Psychosocial disability.

Not everyone who has a mental health condition will have a psychosocial disability, but for people who do, it can be severe, longstanding and impact on their recovery.

You can find out more about Mental Health and the NDIS here.

Anglicare provides NDIS disability support and mental health services across Tasmania.

Anglicare Tasmania has worked with individuals, children and families with mental illness for over 20 years. We support people of all ages, including specialised support where a family may have concerns about the mental wellbeing of a child or young person.

We also provide NDIS Disability Support Services including NDIS Support Plan coordination, Supported Independent Living, Daily Living Support and Capacity Building as well as Short-term Accommodation and respite.
