Hope in action

June 26, 2026

Pawan Aryal is a member of Anglicare’s Acquired Injury Support Services team. Earlier this year he received a Values in Action Award – the highest accolade for people who work with the organisation.

Pawan is a Workforce Scheduling Planner based in Launceston. His role is to manage rosters for staff who provide support to people requiring care after being injured in an accident. They include people with complex injuries who live in long-term residential accommodation and people who require assistance in their own homes.

“My job is to manage staff rosters to ensure clients receive reliable, tailored support,” he explains. “It involves communication with staff and clients using scheduling systems, and ensuring services meet care plans, regulations and organisational standards.”

Pawan’s previous experience as a support worker helps him to understand the importance of consistent, person-centred care. He also enjoys the fast pace of his work environment.

“When rosters run smoothly and the right support worker is matched with the right client, it directly improves someone’s quality of life,” he said. “I enjoy finding quick solutions when plans change. Building strong relationships with staff and clients, and knowing they trust the schedule I create, is very rewarding.”

Anglicare’s Values in Action Awards are peer-nominated. They recognise team members who have been outstanding in the way they put the organisation’s values – Hope, Compassion, Respect and Justice – into action through their work.

Judged the winner in the Hope category, Pawan is held in high regard by his colleagues. Their nominations highlighted his optimism, dignity and listening skills:

“He is approachable, listens with genuine intent, and takes the time to understand concerns”.

“Pawan demonstrates that change can be navigated with grace and that challenges can lead to growth. His consistent attitude and willingness to serve others reflects the true meaning of hope”.

“He has a calm, solutions-focused mindset, showing both professionalism and strength of character.”
