40 years of service

In 2023, Anglicare Tasmania is celebrating 40 years of serving the Tasmanian Community.

Set up by the Anglican Church in Tasmania, we started as a tiny organisation in 1983 with a part-time financial counsellor and a $25,000 grant to provide the Debt Help service.

In those early days, no one could have envisaged the broad range of supports that today’s team delivers. Anglicare’s experience and reputation have been built over decades. In 2023, we are a professional organisation with a clear mission and trusted by Tasmanians to provide quality services, research and advocacy.

In recognition of the 40-year anniversary, we released a series of videos and written stories throughout the year.
