Types of support roles available

Home Care Cleaner

Home Care Cleaners provide cleaning support services to older Tasmanians to assist them to comfortably live in their own homes and support their independence and wellbeing.

Anglicare’s home care cleaning services shifts are typically offered between 9:00am and 3:00pm from Tuesday to Friday which is perfect for people looking for daytime work during school hours.

This position is best suited to people looking at entering the workforce or experienced cleaners with a passion for helping people.

Home Care Worker

Anglicare Home Care Workers provide direct care and support assistance to older Tasmanians living in their own home. They provide a wide range of services that enable people to live at home and stay connected to their community. Our team builds on the strengths and abilities of our clients and support them to reach their goals.

These services are typically offered from 7:00am – 3:00pm Monday to Friday which is perfect for people looking for daytime work with weekends off.

Disability Support Worker

As a Disability Support Worker, you will be a vital part of people’s lives, professionally assisting our clients with movement, domestic duties, mealtime support, medication administration and support with personal care.

A wide range of shifts are available in Anglicare’s disability services including early mornings, day shifts, afternoon shifts, night shifts and sleepovers.

These positions are perfect for individuals interested in commencing a Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent), those who have already obtained their certificate or who have nearly completed their studies.

Your application checklist

Resume or curriculum vitae (CV)
Provides a snapshot of your career and should detail your current contact information, qualifications, education and training, employment history and skills.

Cover letter
While we welcome this, it is not compulsory for all positions. This should be brief, 3-4 paragraphs, focusing on the most relevant parts of your background to the position you have applied for.

Other good things to have

  • A current first aid certificate is not compulsory but can make the difference in getting you started on shifts quickly.
  • Holding your manual handling certification is an excellent head start.
  • Medication administration certificate.

Fast tracking or how to be best prepared for a quick start
To be successful for a role with Anglicare you will be required to provide the following list of documents. While you can wait until you have the job lined up, if you are applying for positions in the field of caring, it may be worth investing in having these documents at the ready so you can start asap!

  • Provide a current Schedule 1 National Police Check (issued within the last 12 months).
  • Provide a current (Tasmanian) Working with Vulnerable People registration (this can take up to 21 days to obtain).
  • A full or provisional Australian driver’s licence.
  • Current proof of work rights/visa.
  • COVID-19 vaccination.
