Let’s give the gift of hope, this Christmas

November 2, 2020
Anglicare Christmas Appeal 2020

A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices

For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.

(O Holy Night)

We warmly invite Snapshot readers to contribute to the Anglicare Christmas Appeal so that we can share the message of hope and gifts of practical support this season.

A message from our CEO, Chris Jones:

This year we’ve all found ourselves navigating huge changes in our everyday lives. I am proud of the way the Anglicare team stepped up quickly to ensure that we kept delivering essential services to the Tasmanian community. Across Tasmania, we have seen people cooperating to prioritise everyone’s health and wellbeing.

Hope is a cornerstone of Anglicare’s guiding values. It sustains us in testing times. Hope gives us confidence that in every situation, we can contribute by extending care to others and working together for the common good. Hope equips us to move forward with purpose, and plan for the future. It brings a sense of peace, even in times of trouble.

Hope strengthens us to reach out and provide support to those around us. This includes older Tasmanians experiencing disconnection and loneliness, and children and young people struggling to make sense of the changes that have disrupted their lives. It includes families of all shapes and sizes, some of whom may not have needed assistance before.

At Anglicare, we know that COVID-19 has exacerbated the difficulties many Tasmanians are feeling this Christmas. You can help struggling families to put food on the table and prepare children to return to school in the New Year.

With thanks,

Chris Jones

CEO
