Submission in response to the Tasmanian Homelessness Charter, Version One

Social Action and Research Centre Submission

Although the Draft Charter provides much content for conversation and deliberation, it focuses narrowly on homelessness services. Anglicare believes the Charter should offer a clear set of rights and responsibilities for all Tasmanians in relation to housing and homelessness. A Homelessness Charter should have a wider target audience than merely homelessness service users and providers. The Draft Charter misses an opportunity to enlist the support of the whole community in protecting the right of all Tasmanians to be housed.
