Submission on the Residential Tenancy Act

Tasmania’s residential tenancy legislation should support stable housing and prevent homelessness. This in-depth submission in response to a discussion paper from Consumer Affairs and Fair Trading examines the context for reform and issues within the private rental market such as lack of security, unreasonable rents, dispute resolution processes, housing quality and lack of enforcement of what protections do exist.
