Submission to the consultation on ‘A continuum of care to prevent youth offending and re-offending’

Social Action and Research Centre Submission

This submission advocates for an expansion of the range of out-of-home care options available to young people in or at risk of contact with the Youth Justice system. Safe places that offer a healing environment for young people who have experienced family breakdown, abuse, neglect, homelessness and trauma are lacking in Tasmania. Anglicare believes a trauma-informed approach needs to be embedded in the provision of services and supports for all young people involved in the Child Protection and Youth Justice systems.
