Anglicare Tasmania manages some adult housing in Tasmania which consists of either independent units or supported residential facilities.
Independent units
Anglicare Tasmania manages some housing in Tasmania where people live in their own units and share some common areas. People who live here need to cook their own meals and do their own washing.
Support staff are on-site during the day. They can help residents to:
- connect with health or community services
- stay in touch with family and friends; and
- look after their until and build daily living skills.
The rent to live here is 25% of an individual’s income plus any Commonwealth Rent Assistance they receive. There is also a $50 fortnightly fee for utilities.
Supported residential facilities
Anglicare Tasmania also runs shared accommodation in Hobart, Launceston, and Burnie. These homes have staff on-site 24/7.
The rent and board together cost 85% of an individual’s income (Commonwealth Rent Assistance is not included). This covers:
- three meals a day
- electricity
- weekly clean sheets and towels; and
- some group activities.
To apply for any of the Anglicare adult accommodation you must register through the Housing Connect Front Door Service by ringing 1800 800 588 or visiting one of the Housing Connect offices.
