YADS provides support to young people when they are arrested by Police where:
The young person is supported while in Police custody/protection.  They will listen to and respect the culture, family and community of the young person by linking them with the right support for them.
YADS will help the young person to access accommodation and other support services they may need.
These may include but are not limited to:
YADS Outreach provides support a couple of afternoons a week to young people in the community with transport, food, practical resources and referrals to support services including accommodation.
YADS cannot provide legal advice.
This service is available Monday to Friday between 5 pm and 8 am.
All hours on weekends and public holidays
To access YADS you need to ask the police at the Bridgewater, Hobart or Bellerive stations about the YADS support and they will contact us.
The YADS Service is for youth in police custody after hours in the south of Tasmania at Bridgewater, Hobart and Bellerive Police Stations.
