This study explores approaches to consumer engagement in alcohol and drug treatment services, describing international examples of success. In Australia, there is no national framework to guide consumer engagement and the field of alcohol and other drug services has been particularly poorly served. This report demonstrates the positive connection between consumer engagement and people actually making use of, and gaining benefit from services.
