Showing care and support this winter
May 29, 2025
Anglicare’s Winter Appeal is providing an opportunity for Anglican churches to connect with their local communities in a meaningful way.
“It’s encouraging to see Anglican churches across the State thoughtfully gathering essential items for their neighbours as part of Anglicare’s Winter Appeal,” said Anglicare’s Parish Community Development Worker Amy Maskell.
“Church donations to the Winter Appeal make a real difference. They give people access to the food, hygiene and cleaning items that they might otherwise not be able to afford.
“They also give people hope and comfort in the knowledge that there is a support network that cares about them.”
If your church, community group or small business would like to join this effort, please get in touch with Amy at amym1@anglicare-tas.org.au
Individuals can also play an important role by making a financial contribution to the Winter Appeal.
“Anglicare uses every cent raised to help the people who are engaged with one of our services, including older people, families with children and young adults,” said Amy.
“It will enable Tasmanians across the regions to catch up on rent, pay a winter power bill, put healthy food on the table and buy essential items for their household.”
Donating is easy. Go this website page and choose the option that best suits you.
Anglicare’s Winter Appeal will run until mid-July.
