Take the pledge to make our roads safer

May 5, 2024

This National Road Safety Week, Anglicare Tasmania supports the Road Safety Advisory Council of Tasmania in its call for people to ‘take the pledge’ to drive so others survive.

Many members of the Anglicare Tasmania team spend a lot of time on the roads around our State, travelling to and from our workplaces and the homes of the people we support.

We’re asking them to ‘take the pledge’ and share vital safety messages with their family and friends.

The pledge reads:

  • I pledge to drive as if my loved ones are on the road ahead.
  • I will remove all distractions and never use my mobile phone while driving.
  • I will not put other people at risk by speeding, driving while tired or under the influence of alcohol/drugs.
  • I will protect all vulnerable road users, especially those whose job places them in harm’s way, by slowing down and giving them the space they need to be safe.
Watch a video about Road Safety Week and sign the online pledge so you can play your part in making Tasmanian roads safer.

The Road Safety Advisory Council of Tasmania also has a range of resources you can explore and share with your family and friends, and a Facebook page.
