Week 4 – Help is available

23rd to 27th September

In the final week 4 of Gamble Aware Month, we want people who are experiencing gambling harm to know that they are not alone. Help is available.

We will be sharing information on our free Gamblers Help Service and the different ways that we work with and assist those experiencing gambling harm.  This includes those that are supporting people who are supporting loved ones.

What can Gamblers Help do for you?

The free Gamblers Help service will be tailored according to your needs and goals. Our professional, experienced and confidential counsellors will be guided by you.

Following is a list of different ways that our counsellors can work with you.  You may choose to use all of these, just a few or none at all.  For example, after talking with you, you may decide that you want to work with one of our Financial Counsellors and use some self-help tools to manage your gambling behaviours.

The good news is that all of these support options and tools are free.

They can then continue to support you on an ongoing basis by:

  • meeting with you regularly to talk about how you are going with your plan
  • connect to the other services that you require
  • arranging self-exclusion orders on your behalf
  • connect you with support groups such as SMART Recovery
  • suggest a range of self-help tools
